Biography
Andrew Gibbs is a renowned figure in the design industry, celebrated for his innovative contributions to packaging design and sustainability. In 2007, he founded DIELINE, which has since evolved into the world’s leading platform for consumer packaging and branding. Under his leadership as CEO and Editor-in-Chief, DIELINE has become the global benchmark for packaging excellence, influencing designers and brands worldwide.
In 2009, Andrew established the DIELINE Awards to formally recognize outstanding consumer product packaging design. The competition was hailed as a “global phenomenon” in its inaugural year and remains one of the most prestigious awards in the design industry.

Beyond DIELINE, Andrew has significantly impacted design education and sustainability. In 2014, he joined the faculty at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he taught Sustainable Packaging Design and mentored emerging talent. He was also named Editor-in-Chief of HOW Design Magazine in 2015, becoming the youngest editor of a design magazine in history.

A committed advocate for sustainable packaging, Andrew became a Climate Reality Leader in 2018 after training under Al Gore at the Climate Reality Corps. He also joined A Plastic Planet, a UK-based non-profit dedicated to reducing single-use plastics in the packaging industry. In 2022, Andrew co-founded PlasticFree.com with A Plastic Planet, a B2B platform that helps brands transition away from single-use plastics by providing sustainable packaging solutions.

Throughout his career, Andrew has been featured in media publications and brands including Fast Company, The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur Magazine, and on Design Matters with Debbie Millman. He is a sought-after speaker on packaging innovation, sustainable materials, brand storytelling, and the power of well-designed packaging.
