Nina Ricci x Antoinette Poisson’s Fragrance Collab Takes Flight
Nina Ricci (Puig) has teamed up with French dominoterie wallpaper designer Antoinette Poisson for a limited-edition of its L’Air du Temps fragrance. Antoinette Poisson conceived a toile de jouy-inspired motif that adorns the bottle, cap and secondary packaging.
For L’Air du Temps à Paris, chez Antoinette Poisson, the specialist in the 18th century technique of dominoterie – printing decorative papers using engraved plates before enhancing them by hand – created a golden yellow motif for the fragrance packaging. The print, which pays homage to toile-de-jouy, takes its design cues from L’Air du Temps’ iconic dove.
The bottle (Bormioli Luigi) is lacquered white, while the print is applied using yellow sublimation; the flacon’s shape made it particularly complex to ensure that the details of the print were not distorted.
The flacon is topped with a white Surlyn cap (Albéa) pad printed in yellow and coated with a clear gloss varnish. Antoinette Poisson’s print also adorns the fragrance box (Egisa), made from Arjowiggins’ Delos Snow and decorated with…
